1961 - Magic Fingers!
1965 - The two boxes to the right, lying on the floor, are Märklin's Metall, a high class version of Erector Set. 1965 - Proud owner of a second BR89, #3000, steam lok.
1966 - My first permanent layout. Complete with Lego houses and Matchbox cars! OK, so the signal is a bit out of scale. 1966 - I guess I was in a very good mood. I said not a word when my brat kid sister touched a car. Not even a flinch when she re-railed a lok.
1968 - A new layout. I believe I used every piece of track I owned. I was very proud of all the little buttons and all those new signals. Gone is the giant signal. The superstructure with a yellow base is a home made crane. 1968 - I got quite good and at switching the frieght and passenger trains between the inner and outer sections. I have not been able to figure out that track layout. Hours were spent getting the track to fit just right, as wiggle room was NOT allowed. Those curves had a mix of 5100, 5120 and 5200 track along with those little make up pieces.

I remember several more pictures, but we haven't found them yet. There were numerous experiments with bridge piers and elevated track. One Christmas, I found a second transformer under the tree. One trafo was used for the lights and signals, the other for the trains. I never did quite figure out how to create blocks. I was concerned that I might blow out the trafo.
No such fears today; plug it in and see!
